Career Development

Searching for a job can be compared to building a computer.  Many different components that when carefully put together produces a finished and satisfying product.  Similarly, finding a job involves many different parts that must be performed adequately in order to find suitable employment.  Obviously, the better the parts that are used, the better the finished product will be.

Finding a job is comprised of at least four components or skills all of which play a critical role in obtaining employment:

  • Creating a resume
  • Finding the job openings
  • Applying for the position
  • Interviewing for the position

This Career Development section is intended to assist students in these four areas.  Please follow the above links to review articles and suggestions related to the points.  If you have any question or would like personal assistance in developing these skills, please call the Job Placement Office at 642-1280.
