In a poignant testament to the power of mentorship and the cyclical nature of inspiration, two exceptional juniors from our RAMTEC program, Sam Cox (Unioto) and Cole Stevens (Zane Trace), recently took a monumental step forward by enlisting in the Ohio Army National Guard. Their decision, fueled by a series of impactful events that came full circle, not only reflects their resolve but also underscores the profound influence of guidance and opportunity.

Their journey towards enlistment is marked by a demonstration that brought military robotics opportunities directly to their campus, orchestrated by LTC Katie Enochs, whose connection to the event came as a surprise during their swearing-in ceremony.

Mr. Kinnison, RAMTEC instructor, praised Sam and Cole as "superstars" within the RAMTEC program, noting their remarkable abilities and dedication. He expressed pride in their choice to serve their country and state, emphasizing that their decision aligns perfectly with their character and capabilities.

SSG Tara Kinzer, who played a pivotal role in the recruitment process along with SSG Joannie Book, recounted the events leading up to Sam and Cole's decision. She revealed that LTC Enochs had provided SSG Kinzer with members of her team and equipment.  The robot, brought by other members of LTC Enochs' team, was used to conduct live demonstrations, showcasing the diverse career opportunities available within the Ohio Army National Guard.

The demonstration, held in collaboration with RAMTEC and Law & Public Safety students, proved to be a turning point for Sam and Cole. SSG Kinzer explained, "It is what sparked their first interests!" The hands-on experience provided by the demonstration ignited a curiosity and, ultimately, led Sam and Cole to enlist.

LTC Enochs' involvement came as a surprise during the swearing-in ceremony, underscoring the serendipitous nature of their journey. LTC Enochs, who had unknowingly played a crucial role in inspiring Sam and Cole, expressed her pride and admiration for their decision to serve. The unexpected connection served as a poignant reminder of the impact that individuals can have on each other's lives, even in seemingly unrelated circumstances.

As Sam Cox and Cole Stevens embark on their journey with the Ohio Army National Guard, they carry with them the lessons learned and the inspiration gained from their time in the RAMTEC program. Their enlistment serves as a testament to the transformative power of hands-on experiences, mentorship, and serendipitous encounters, shaping the next generation of military leaders and defenders of our nation.
