At Pickaway-Ross Career & Technology Center, we are proud to recognize the dedication and impact of our Options for Transitions Team: Jody French, Patricia Holbert, and Deb Leasure. The team recently received an Honorable Mention for the Franklin B. Walter Outstanding Educator Award in Region 15, an honor that celebrates educators who have made extraordinary contributions to the education of students with disabilities.

Nominated by Kristine Coriell, Assistant Principal and Special Education Supervisor, the team was recognized not only for their professional excellence, but for the compassion and support they provide students every day. Their work exemplifies the values of inclusive education, career readiness, and student-centered learning.

The Franklin B. Walter Award is presented annually to educators or teams in each of Ohio’s 16 State Support Team regions. Named in honor of Dr. Franklin B. Walter, Ohio’s longest-serving State Superintendent of Public Instruction, the award celebrates a legacy of advocacy and educational excellence, especially for students with disabilities.

The award was formally presented to the team at the May Pickaway-Ross Board of Education meeting, where board members and administrators expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the team's continued commitment to student success.

Congratulations to Jody, Patricia, and Deb on this well-deserved recognition. Your work truly transforms lives.
