Students in Mr. Mitchel’s Industrial Maintenance class at Logan Elm — a satellite program of Pickaway-Ross — have reached an impressive milestone in their tradition of hands-on learning and community-based projects.

The class recently completed its 25th pole barn, adding to a long-running series of large-scale builds that allow students to apply their skills in real-world settings. This year’s project for Clint and Alex Riffel was completed and features a 32’ x 40’ structure with a 14-foot ceiling height.

Beyond constructing the barn itself, students also finished the concrete inside and out and completed all interior electrical work, gaining experience across multiple areas of the skilled trades, including planning, safety, craftsmanship, and teamwork.

This milestone reflects the strength of PRCTC’s satellite programming, which gives students the opportunity to develop industry-relevant skills while remaining connected to their home school communities.

And the momentum continues — the class has already begun construction on Barn #26, scheduled for completion and celebration this spring.
