A cafeteria is full of people of all ages for a community breakfast.

The Zane Trace FFA program, a satellite program of Pickaway-Ross Career and Technology Center, continued a beloved tradition this past weekend with its 48th Annual Sausage Breakfast. The community gathered to support the students and celebrate nearly five decades of agricultural education and service.

The event is the highlight of the year and allows students to engage in hands-on learning that defines FFA and career-technical agricultural programs. Students worked closely with local farmers throughout the preparation process, cutting and grinding meat before casing it into sausage. This partnership between students and community farmers exemplifies the real-world agricultural experience that makes the program so valuable.

On the day of the breakfast, FFA members took on every role necessary to serve the community. Students rotated through stations cooking sausage and pancakes, washing dishes, managing the carryout station, and serving patrons.

The success of the breakfast wouldn't be possible without the dedicated volunteer group that supports the Zane Trace FFA program. These volunteers work alongside students to ensure the event runs smoothly and continues to grow each year.

Proceeds from this year's breakfast will benefit three important causes: Ohio FFA, Nationwide Children's Hospital, and the Ross County Junior Fair. These donations support agricultural education at the state level, provide care for children in need, and enhance opportunities for young people in Ross County.

The continued generosity of community members and local businesses has allowed this tradition to thrive for nearly half a century.

As a satellite program of Pickaway-Ross CTC, Zane Trace FFA brings quality career and technical education directly to students in their home district.
