Students in the Pickaway-Ross Precision Machining & CNC program will gain greater access to industry-standard technology thanks to a generous donation from Innovative Solutions Unlimited, LLC, known as InSolves.

The Piketon company donated $4,000 to help the program purchase additional Mastercam seats. Mastercam is computer-aided design and manufacturing software used to create the instructions that operate computer numerical control, or CNC, machine tools. Expanding access to the software will give more students an opportunity to develop skills they are likely to encounter in the machining industry.

InSolves Owner and CEO Jennifer Barbarits-Phillips and Manufacturing and Project Manager Casey Euton recently joined the program’s junior students, instructor Roy Cooper and Principal Chris Thornsley to recognize the donation and the partnership between the company and Pickaway-Ross.

InSolves provides specialty manufacturing services, including CNC and traditional machining, fabrication and welding. The company has also hired several Pickaway-Ross students, creating a valuable connection between classroom instruction and local career opportunities.

Support from industry partners helps Pickaway-Ross keep instruction aligned with current workforce needs while giving students experience with the equipment and technology employers use. The donation will strengthen the Precision Machining & CNC program’s ability to prepare students for employment and continued training in the machine trades.

Pickaway-Ross thanks InSolves, Barbarits-Phillips and Euton for their investment in career-technical education and the future of the region’s skilled workforce.
